Counselling and Psychotherapy in Stafford

I offer a confidential and warm therapeutic relationship for my clients to explore their current or past emotional struggles and provide support in their process.

A mature counsellor with many years in the helping professions, I have a Post Graduate Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling (Level 7).

I work in collaboration with my client in a Pluralistic style with a Person-Centred focus. As such, I very much listen to what my client is in counselling for and follow their lead; suggesting additional therapies if and when they wish. Having been trained as an integrative therapist, I have knowledge and experience of different ways of working with people, including CBT and creatively, using a sandtray. This can work really well for people struggling to find words for their emotional experience and in fact works on a deep emotional level, also assisting both client and therapist  to understand and resolve issues.

I am experienced in helping clients who have experienced difficulties with:

• Stress

• Relationships

• Panic Attacks

• Anxiety

• Bereavement

• Redundancy

• Eating Disorders

• Depression

• Addiction.

I have a professional background in Adult Social Services (primarily mental health), Secondary Education as a Behaviour Specialist, Mental Health Mentor at Staffordshire University and have done training and voluntary work with Women's Aid and counselling at One Recovery (addiction support service).

Being a member of BACP, I am committed to their ethical guidelines in my practice, including offering my counselling and psychotherapy in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment.
