Personal Approach and Therapies Offered
I work in a Pluralistic style in collaboration with the client, with a Person-Centred focus.
My listening skills form a very large part of the therapeutic process, as in the Person-Centred discipline. However, I also work collaboratively and suggest different therapeutic approaches if I feel these may be helpful. Being client led however, I will take my lead from the client.
I have skills in working creatively with clients with the use of a sand tray, where clients can explore their issues in a metaphorical and often very deep way without the need for words.
(It can be particularly useful for both adults and young people, as it works at a pre-verbal and deep level in helping to understand, heal and resolve issues and emotions).
I also incorporate EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique, using tapping points) which is useful for trauma; CBT (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) where appropriate; brief, solution focussed methods; mentoring; psycho-education and assistance in retraining physiological states.
